About Us

Valley Sage is a labor of love by Josh Chapman, a recovering software engineer who lives in The (San Fernando) Valley and loves sage plants, among others. I've been an avid birder and explorer of nature since early childhood. When I finally got my own yard, I set out to convert it to the wildlife-attracting, nature-restoring native garden of my dreams. And thus the seeds of Valley Sage were sown, if you will.

I'm often joined on garden projects by collaborators, including my nine-year-old daughter. She's still learning to love weeding, but her presence is great for morale.
